Love Like Jesus

Husbands, love your wives, just as Christ loved the church and gave himself up for her 26 to make her holy, cleansing[a] her by the washing with water through the word, 27 and to present her to himself as a radiant church, without stain or wrinkle or any other blemish, but holy and blameless. 28 In this same way, husbands ought to love their wives as their own bodies. He who loves his wife loves himself. 29 After all, no one ever hated their own body, but they feed and care for their body, just as Christ does the church— 30 for we are members of his body.

Alright men, today is for us. We need to choose to love our wives daily. To always put them before ourselves. We can get so easily distracted, there's things trying to grab our attention at every corner. Almost every single ad you see these days has a pretty girl wearing something skimpy, and the enemy would love to drive division into your family.

I once heard that if Satan cannot get to God, he will go after God's most prized possession, which is marriage. If you ruin marriage, you ruin generations. Think of the ripple effect it causes. I have made plenty and plenty of mistakes being a husband and I'm sure I will make plenty more. I do know now though when my marriage is being attacked by Satan and it makes it easier to fend off these attacks.

As men we need to be laying our life down for our family. All too much I see the male driving the big fancy pick up truck while the rest of his family gets out on the back burner, or the man is out at the bar or out with friends while the wife and kids are home waiting for him. I can not tell you how thankful I am for the time I get to spend with my family, or choosing to use my finances for dates with my wife, or coming home after work on a Friday while others choose to go to the bar. Home is literally the only place you are not replaceable. Work can replace you, your family can not. Be there and be present gentlemen. Tell your wife she's beautiful. Don't try to win the argument. Make her laugh and smile and tell her she's special. God put her in your life for a reason. Respect and love her.
